In The Trarven Of Love By Koobang Ensemble
Misaq Eshaghi started playing Tonbak (Persian hand drum) with his father Master Dariush Eshaghi, at an early age. He started learning violin at the age of 9 after one year, he became interested in Kamancheh (Persian bowed string instrument). Misaq started learning Kamancheh with Master Ardeshir Kamkar. Meanwhile he studied music composition and counterpoint with Master Kambiz Roshanravan where he started writing music for film an TV. In his 20's in order to improve his abilities further Misaq went under direction of various masters of Kamancheh, e.g. Master Mohammad Reza Lotfi, Saeed Farajpouri and Ali Akbar Shekarchi. Matin Eshaghi was born in a music-dedicated family. At the age of 3, he began learning Tonbak, Persian hand drum, under his father's supervision, Master Dariush Eshaghi. At the age of 7, he commenced learning Taar. After he finished one Radif, Radife Mirza Hoseingholi, he continued learning more advanced techniques and under supervision of Mr.Behrouz Hemmati Matin learned another Radif, Radif Mirza Abdollah, and familiarized himself with Mr. Hossein Alizadeh's works. He finished the Radifs and Started learning advance Radif, Radif Shahnazi. Under Master Mohamdreza Lotfi's supervision, he reviewed and analyzed the Radifs again and gained knowledge about advanced techniques of Tar. He won the first prize as a Tar soloist in International Fajr music festival in 2007 and student festival in 2005. Nadia Sabet She is living and studying in Las Vegas. She has been part of Koobang Ensemble since 2011. She started learning Tonbak and Daf in 1991. She is studying music under the instruction of well known percussionist: Bahman Rajabi, Reza Mirzakhani, Kambiz Ganjeii, Afshin Khalaj. She won the first price at the 4th Youth Festival as a Tonbak soloist. She has had many concerts in Iran and other countries. She has been teaching Tonbak and Daf for 10 years now.
Misaq and Matin have performed many successful concerts, which included TV and Radio interviews with the Koobang Ensemble in the United States: Los Angeles 2015, 2013, 2011 Chicago 2014, 2012 Orange County 2013 Arizona 2013 Phoenix, Dallas, Bay Area... Over 6 years Misaq and Matin Eshaghi have composed and recorded many pieces. The Koobang Ensemble has released five albums: Graceful Moon 2015 Soroor 2013 Chashm-e Sokhangoo 2011 Ahuy-e man 2009 Jan-e Janan 2008 Currently Misaq and Matin live in Los Angeles, California where they teach Persian music instruments (Tonbak, Daf, Tar, Setar, Kamancheh), while studying Music at CSUN.
