Fellowship Fundraiser
Join us for the HAL CARLSTAD JUSTICE AWARDS DINNER & PROGRAM on Friday, July 22!
This is a BFUU Fundraising Dinner. All supporters who contribute $75.00 or more are invited to to attend a special appreciation reception with Cindy Sheehan and Karen Pickett before the awards program. Doors open 6 PM for a reception in the Fireside Room (not wheelchair accessible), and for the dinner in Fellowship Hall (accessible). The awards program begins at 7:30. We'll be honoring Plowshares Activist SUSAN CRANE, now in Dublin Federal Prison for her courageous witness at the Trident Nuclear Submarine Base in Washington: State-KAREN PICKETT, tireless activist for EARTH FIRST & CINDY SHEEHAN, anti-war activist-extraordinaire who first spoke at BFUU on July 4, 2004 just 3 months after her son Casey was killed in Iraq; and strong woman CAROLYN SCARR, who tireslessly works for Peace and Justice as head of Ecumenical Peace Institute and leader of the 13 year vigil every week in front of Oakland Federal Building to educate our fellow citizens. The 4 Awards will be given after a delicious meal with vegetarian options. Music by Stephen Myers, Maxina Ventura, Vic Sadot, and others. This is a Fundraiser for our Fellowship Hall, which for over 50 years has served as a Community Center for many justice events, and has historically been the initiator of significant movements for change.
