HAYWIRE - The Musical
Write Act Repertory Theatre's Producing Artistic Director John Lant and Associate Artistic Director Ken Cosby are proud to present the World Premiere of HAYWIRE by Dean Parker with additional Music by LA Composer Lou Briggs.
This new premiere work has a limited thirteen performance engagement at the Write Act Repertory Theatre, opening Saturday, June 4th through Sunday June 26th, 2011. The performances run Thursday through Saturdays with special Sunday matinee shows on June 12th, 19th, and 26th. All evening shows start at 8:00pm and matinee shows start at 4:00pm. where havoc erupts in a small Midwestern town when some young farmers fight to stimulate the economy.
HAYWIRE is a musical comedy featuring Randy Wilson, a young bank teller from New York City, returning to his hometown of Fern Hill, Minnesota, to find that his parents and all the other farmers are facing foreclosure. Together with Randy's fiancée, Tasha, and his younger tomboy sister, Kris, Randy hatches a plan to thwart Emma Van Horn, the owner of the rural community's only bank, who wants to steal the farmer's land for profit. When Emma's equally devious nephew, Keith, falls for Kris, a choosing of sides ensues, resulting in chaotic and comedic results.
Haywire is presented at the beautifully rebuilt Write Act Repertory Theatre on the St. Stephen's Episcopal Church campus, located at 6128 Yucca Street in Hollywood, two blocks east of the famous Capitol Records building near Gower and Franklin, off the 101 freeway. Free ample parking is located one block away in the lower church parking lot at 6125 Carlos Avenue. The theatre, which features an outdoor patio reception area, is both air-conditioned and heated.
