FINAL PERFORMANCE/GALA RECEPTION- $45
PERFORMANCE ONLY- $35
All of our regular-priced performances have sold out. (Thank you!)
For our final performance on Saturday, July 30, YMTC will host a special performance and post-show reception production reception to celebrate the talented young people who participate in our program. All proceeds from this gala event will go toward YMTC's Tuition Assistance program, which provides funds for young performers who might not otherwise be able to participate in musical theater productions.
Join us for festivities that will include additional performances by Artistic Director Jennifer Boesing and YMTC Alumni, plus fabulous desserts, wine and champagne and a chance to mingle with the actors.
Seats will be assigned at the door on a first-come first served basis. Our box office will open 1 hour prior to each performance for Will Call and seat selection.
Jesus Christ Superstar is the rock opera classic that presents the story of the last 7 days of Jesus of Nazereth as seen from the perspective of Judas Iscariot. Judas is torn between the substance of Jesus' message and the hype that surrounds his friend's growing celebrity. With pulsating rock songs, sweet ballads and a little bit of soul, composer Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyricist Tim Rice provide depth of character to some of the lesser known names from the Gospels.
YMTC's production frames the play in a contemporary setting through the vision of director Jennifer Boesing. A live, seven piece professional band is led by music director Dave Moschler.
For younger audience members, please be advised that this show contains theatrical portrayals of physical violence, gun violence, death, and illicit drug use, as well as very loud noises, haze, and flashing lights.
YMTC is a Berkeley-based company which produces professional caliber musical theater while providing exceptional theater training to students from the 7th grade through university level. We bring together the Bay Area's most talented and dedicated young singer/actors with professional directors, designers, and musicians to create theater that takes on challenging and sophisticated musical and dramatic themes, and that is always accompanied by a full, live orchestra.

Question: |
I'd like to come but I have a new knee and going downstairs is really hard. Is it possible to get a single ticket for the ground flour on this Friday? I'd come by myself to facilitate this. Thanks! |
Answer: |
If you purchase a ticket in advance, you can email info@ymtcberkeley.org with your name and number in your party. We will happily reserve accessible seating. For Sold Out performances (like Friday, July 22) we will create a Wait List for unused tickets. There is no guarantee that folks on the Wait List will get in. Seats are assigned when they are made available; we will do our best to accommodate special needs seating. |
