The Andrew Carnegie Free Library & Music Hall's annual benefit -- "Menard Presents: Carnegies in Concert" -- brings renowned faculty and alumni from Carnegie Mellon University's elite School of Music to the ACFL&MH's acoustically superb Music Hall for a glittery evening of outstanding music. The concert takes place on Friday, October 2 at 7:30 p.m.
Renowned violinist and former Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra Concert Master Andrés Cárdenes and his violinist wife Monique Mead (also CMU's Director of Music Entrepreneurship and Center for Arts Innovation) headline an eclectic roster of performers. Among the performers are pianist Rodrigo Ojeda, Caitlin Quinlan (vocalist and CMU cello major, C Street Brass and Isabel(11) and Tino(10)Cárdenes on harp and piano respectively.
An after-performance supper reception throughout the ACFL&MH's historic landmark facility follows the concert. Audience members will be the first to preview the just restored Library interior. (Slated to re-open October 25.)
Proceeds from "Carnegies in Concert" benefit the campaign to restore and revitalize the Library & Music Hall.
Tickets are $125 Reserved Orchestra and $75 Open Seating in the Balcony. Free Shuttle service will be available from the municipal parking lot, located on E. Main Street (between Pine and Mary Streets-across from Carnegie Coffee Company).
Tickets are non-refundable 72 hours after purchase.
