Spectral Theatre's "Late-Night Double Feature" - June '11
All throughout the summer Spectral Theatre's "Late-Night Double Feature" will present two spooky/weird/unusual/offensive scripts lovingly crafted by the freaky, filth mongers in and around Spectral Theatre and performed live on the stage by some of Vancouver's most gruesomely gifted up-and-coming performers. For our opening month we're kicking things off with a double barrel blast of weirdness and spectacle...
"The Good, the Bad and the Unclean" written by Justin Clow and Simon C. Hussey and directed by Simon C. Hussey is an earnest homage to the western classics of Sergio Leone and Hammer Horror films.
followed by
"The Banshee" written and directed by Desmond Hussey, a whimsical farce exploring the ancient Irish legend of the woman of the fairy mound.
Both plays playfully recreate the experience of hiding under your blankets reading EC Comics with a flashlight. Just don't let your parents catch you rotting your mind with this smut!
Note: There will be scenes of violence, gore and foul language. Water-based smoke effects, baby powder and strobe lights used during the performance.
