Comedian Maureen Langan
Once she takes to the stage, it's clear to see why this feisty comic was named one of the "Ten Standout Stand-ups Worth Watching" by Backstage Magazine.
Maureen regales audiences with tales of her upbringing as one of six immaculate conceptions born to Ann, an Irish immigrant and Hugh, a sanitation worker from the Bronx. Langan grew up in Lake Hiawatha, New Jersey, where there is no lake.
Maureen's previous career as a broadcaster is also fodder for her act. She refers to her former station as W-B-O-R-I-N-G. "Being a funny person in a serious newsroom is definitely a recipe for comedy and unemployment," says Langan.
"With her wonderful Irish background and her feisty streak, Langan would make a great sitcom wife, mom, or fun character, especially in a newsroom or broadcast setting." Amelia David, Backstage Magazine
Langan's quick wit makes her a favorite at comedy clubs all over the country. She performs at the Tropicana in Atlantic City and Las Vegas, Carolines on Broadway, The Comic Strip, and the esteemed NY Friars Club. She was a winner of the Bud Lite Ladies of Laughter Funniest Women Contest. She has appeared in many national commercials, in "Marci X," a Paramount Pictures film starring Damon Wayans, and on HBO.
