The SpacePimps, "Eternal Boy" vinyl release show w/Survay Says, Firestarter
The SpacePimps
The SpacePimps are a product of the Drive-Thru Records era; a time when music and friendships went hand-in-hand, and when pop punk was revered. From the basements of the Steel City to venues across the world, The SpacePimps have been permeating their brand of pop punk to the ears of listeners all over the globe. Their DIY mentality and blue collar work ethic has allowed the band to achieve high levels of success for an independent band: countless US, Japan, and China tours, coveted spots on The Warped Tour, shows with New Found Glory, Reel Big Fish, Sum 41, The Starting Line, The Used, and a devoted fan base that are closer to family than fans. The SpacePimps book, promote, sell, fund, and manage their own destiny, and take pride in that process. Their new album, "Eternal Boy," is out now. Your Mom.
Survay Says!
Survay Says! Is a 6-piece pop punk/ska band from New Jersey. Averaging 150+ shows a year for the past 3 years, Survay Says! Blends horn-driven ska music with a hard hitting and quick, catchy pop punk sound.
An energetic and entertaining live show and a strong work ethic set this band apart from the rest. Without the help of agents or managers, the band amassed 208 total shows played in North America in 2013, including a 3+ week tour supporting Big D & The Kids Table (SideOneDummy Records) and Red City Radio (Paper + Plastick Records) that took them to their first appearance at Fest in Gainesville, FL and Pre-Fest in Tampa, FL.
2014 was just as busy of a year with the release of a new length album on Asbestos Records, and international releases as well (Canada, Japan, United Kingdom). The release of their new record "Observations Of The Human Condition" was quickly followed by several North American tours in April through November, including a month-long run with ska legends Reel Big Fish, 2 weeks of shows supporting pop punk greats MxPx, Zebrahead, and Allister, and a return trip to the Fest.
Firestarter
"Have you ever just packed everything you own, and left somewhere you've known for so long and traded it in for the unknown" singer/guitarist Matt LaPerche croons on "49 Stow" these are the words Firestarter was built on when LaPerche moved to Albany for a fresh start.
The group, also consisting of Tyler McMullen (guitar), Jeff Henlin (bass), and Matt Bliss (drums), came together in the fall of 2012. They hit the ground running and haven't stopped since. In just over two years, Firestarter has released two EP's - 2013's New Beginnings and 2014's Forget The Past - a split 7" with Orlando's Old Again, and toured the United States extensively in support of all of them.
Firestarter has no plan of stopping now. With the release of a new EP recorded by Jay Maas (Counterparts, Defeater, State Champs) on the horizon, be sure to keep this Albany, NY band on your radar this year.
Locals: Look Out Loretta and Danvers!
After the show, there will be a special Pop Punk Night after-party downstairs at The Smiling Moose, featuring prizes, games, drink specials, and much much more!
