Event
Living Room Tour 2011, 7/21
Join us for an intimate party and performance, and support the remarkable contemporary puppet theater work of Blair Thomas & Company. This event will take place in a former tire factory located in Chicago's historic Motor Row that is now home and studio to artist, fashion designer, and School of the Art Institute fashion department chair Nick Cave.
This unique fundraiser includes dinner, drinks and an excerpt from Blair's latest creation, Moby-Dick.
Glimpse the expansive wonder of the unknown world penetrated by Ahab and his crew on their hunt for the great white whale Moby-Dick. In preparation for our full adaptation of Melville's resonate novel, we present an excerpt of Ishmael's inadvertent adventure as the only surviving member of the Pequod. This performance will employ our puppets and scrolls, original music and sound, to lay hold of Ishmael's vision of the ungraspable phantom of life.
