The Reptile Under the Flowers
Automata presents Janie Geiser's The Reptile Under the Flowers, a walk-through Peepshow/Diorama Performance in 12 scenes,using puppetry, peepshows , mechanical performing objects, small projections,music/sound, and a miniature house, crumbling in the snow. Reptile is performed by an ensemble of puppeteers and performers, in a walk-through set of 12 scenes, with the audience entering the installation in groups of 8 people every 15 minutes. The full duration of the work is about an hour.Reptile Under the Flowers was presented as a work in progress at in 2009; this is the premiere of the full work.
The Reptile Under the Flowers builds its narrative through the accumulation of small actions and events, and follows the intersecting lives of a father and son.
While this is an adult puppetry performance, children over 10 who are attending with adults are welcome. The patience of younger children may be tested by the form of viewing and the atmosphere of the performance.

Note: Tickets will be sold for specific entrance times, as the audience will enter in groups of 8 people every 15 minutes during performance times. For example, for the Thursday evening performance, tickets will be sold for 8:00, 8:15, 8:30 and so on. The full walk-through is about one hour. If you wish to enter with a specific group of people, please try to purchase all of the tickets at the same time for the same time slot, or adjoining slots. While this is not a performance designed for children, children over 10 who are attending with adults are welcome. The patience of younger children may be tested by the form of viewing and the atmosphere of the performance.
