Misha Berson: Celebrating 'West Side Story'
From its inception by a brilliant quartet (Robbins, Bernstein, Sondheim, and Laurents) to its success on film, its ongoing popularity, and its impact on the Great American Musical, West Side Story is one of the most inventive, influential, and internationally beloved musicals of all time. "On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Oscar-winning film, Seattle Times drama critic Misha Berson has written a new book, Something's Coming, Something Good: West Side Story and the American Imagination" which we'll celebrate through an evening of songs, stories, and clips, with featuring original cast member Martin Charnin (artistic director of Showtunes Theatre Company), and singers from The 5th Avenue Theatre. Presented by Town Hall, with The 5th Avenue Theatre and Elliott Bay Book Company.
