Farm Tour & Planting - Vinegar Flats
The Whole Plate connects you to food close to home. Join this "working" farm tour and help Vinegar Flats Community Garden and Ornery Heron Farm get their plants in the ground!
Out in Nature. Close to home. These urban farms are 6 minutes from downtown and produce fresh, local, healthy foods for low-income women & children AND sell delicious and nutritious food at the South Perry Farmers' Market, as well as to a couple local restaurants, like Italia Trattoria and South Perry Pizza!
Tour the farms, talk about what grows well, the mission of the work. Then, get your hands dirty! Plant starts in the soil and help our local farmers feed our local people!
Weather depending, we'll visit a few bee hives very close!
Light snacks provided. Bring own beverage and light coat. Wear outdoor footwear and clothing that can get a little dirty.
Meet at Blue Moon, and be ready to share a ride with another.
