The Importance of Being Earnest
Come see the Shift Theater production of The Importance of Being Earnest the masterpiece play by Oscar Wilde that snickers at the absurd rules and priorities of the British landed gentry of the late 1800s. When an English gentleman takes on two distinct identities -- one in the country and another in the city -- it leads to confusion, jealousy and surprises. Romance, hilarity and farce in three acts will make for a delightful evening in a stunning setting overlooking the UC Berkeley Campus.
Join the cast at the top of the Student Union (Tilden Room) at the corner of Bancroft and Telegraph Avenues in Berkeley on June 2, 3 and 4 at 7 p.m. for a memorable evening. The director, artistic team and actors are all students from Berkeley High School. Enjoy intermission outdoors, overlooking the campus on a beautiful summer evening. Students $8, general admission $12. Tickets online at brownpapertickets.com.
