The Room is a cinematic experience unlike anything else. The story is set in a San Francisco beautifully rendered on green screen, where we meet a banker named Johnny (Tommy Wiseau). He has a great job, friends and even a girlfriend, but not is as tranquil as it seems. Drugs, deception, soft-core sex and a cheating heart start to slowly unravel Johnny's life. He is trapped by his own kind nature amongst these betrayals and must find a way out! The Room is crafted in such a way that you won't believe what has been accomplished on a reported $6 million budget. The Room enjoyed successful midnight screenings in Los Angeles eight years and here at the Red Vic for two. Finally we drag it out into the light of day for the San Francisco audience. Perhaps by the end you will have an answer to the one, plaguing question: Is this the Citizen Kane of bad movies? (99m)
