A 'Pub' Party for Trimpin
MacArthur and Guggenheim fellow Trimpin is a Seattle sound artist, kinetic sculptor, musician, and composer whose work has been profiled, filmed, and exhibited around the world. But still, access to his work is limited (with one notable local exception: EMP's towering cyclone of guitars). The beautiful new book Trimpin: Contraptions for Art and Sound places his life and work in context, and our pub(lication) party features editor Anne Focke, publisher Ed Marquand and Trimpin himself to discuss the evolution of the book, followed by a musical interlude with one of Trimpin's contraptions, and a peek at what he might do next. Oh, and a partywith light food, and a cash bar. Presented by Town Hall with Marquand Books and University of Washington Press.
