Mottainai - World Environment Day at the Japanese American National Museum
Great Leap, Inc. is a multicultural performing arts nonprofit organization. This year we are focusing on environmental activism through EcoVideos and performances. We recently completed shooting and production of our latest video "Mottainai" which sheds light on the wasteful use of our natural resources. "BYO Chopstix", an earlier production, brought into perspective the millions of pairs of wooden throwaway chopsticks we use every year.
Riding the momentum of the completion of the "Mottainai" video shoot, Great Leap will be hosting an event on World Environment Day on June 5th at the Japanese American National Museum (JANM) in Little Tokyo in Downtown LA.
We will be premiering the "Mottainai" video during the event. We will also be having several workshops on greener living. Come out and enjoy performances of "Order To Go" by Great Leap's collaboratory and learn the new Obon dance "Mottainai" around a magnificent tree sculpture made of upcycled wooden chopsticks.
Price will include ticket for entire day of events. However, due to limited seating capacity, performances will be split between a 1pm show and a 5pm show. Attendees for the 5pm show are invited to attend the festivities including Obon dance and greener living workshops starting at 1pm.
Ticket sales for both performances will stop at 12:00am on June 4th.
