MARAH in Fort Wayne
Rural PA (by way of Conshohocken-South Philly-Brooklyn) rock band MARAH return to Fort Wayne's Brass Rail after their triumphant show on Father's Day, 2010. They'll be joined by Indiana's Thunderhawk.
OLG's Matt Kelley named Marah's 2010 release, 'Life Is a Problem' as his album-of-the-year in Whatzup. Here's the review: Hearts a-bustin' and eardrums a-blowin' to the loser love songs of Marah. 'Life Is a Problem' destroyed me with absolute beauty on emotional, visceral and even academic levels. It's the album for the transition between this momentthis very momentand the rest of your life, the album you pull off the side of the road to shred your car's speakers with, the album that makes you believe in hyperbole again. It's ragged, unmixed, old-time and punk as ****. Is it for you? Well If you ever fell in love on a fire escape on a sticky night while the town snapped electric. If after all these years, you still feel young, and bittersweetly out of touch, and all the better for it. If you got everything you ever wanted and then found out you never knew what you ever really wanted. If you spent the night in jail. If your brother fell out of your life and you wish you'd done more to keep him in it. If you stopped giving a damn what people's status was. If 140 characters will never be enough. If life's velocity was downright frightening. If your last kiss was in a parking lot, and your first one was, too. If you didn't laugh, you'd cry. If it's positively dangerous. If you loved it all, more than ever before. Then Life Is a Problem.
