SOUL PROPRIETOR SATURDAY FUNKFEST

Based in Spokane, Washington, Soul Proprietor is a high-energy, nine-piece Urban Soul band whose goal is to funkifize! They specialize in the music of legendary R&B horn bands such as Tower of Power, Chicago, Blood Sweat and Tears, Earth Wind and Fire, Kool and the Gang, and the Average White Band, as well as Blues and Motown classics by Aretha Franklin, Etta James, Stevie Wonder, Tracy Chapman, Wilson Pickett, Anita Baker, Peter Gabriel, Seal, Sam and Dave, Huey Lewis, and many more. The band's musical sources are many, but the main focus is on the groove. One of the tightest rhythm sections around propels infectious funk beats that are then spiced with punchy horn lines and exquisite, soulful vocals. Dancing is not required, but highly likely. Soul Proprietor is a favorite among Northwest concert-goers and features the outstanding lead vocals of Patrice Thompson-Rose, guitarist/vocalist Fred Vota, Mark Norton on keyboards and vocals, bassist Ken Martello, the "rhythm doctor" Eric Brown on drums, and a stellar 4-piece horn section of Jesse Flanagan on trumpet, Gary Edighoffer on sax and flute, Mick Sakakeeny on trombone, and Matt "Doc" Thistle on the funky baritone sax!
