Norwalk Seaport Association Clambake
Every summer, the Seaport Ferry in South Norwalk carries hundreds of hungry passengers to the historic 1868 Sheffield Island Lighthouse for the Norwalk Seaport Association's famous Thursday Clambakes. A true New England dining experience, the evening allows participants to dine in the festive tented pavilion on the lighthouse lawn, with tours of the lighthouse itself included in the cost. Roundtrip cruise and dinner is either $58 or $78 per person, depending on entree. Vegetarian options available. Advance registration only.

The Norwalk Seaport Association has owned, restored and maintained Sheffield Island Lighthouse since 1986 and is the official U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service Friends group for the Norwalk Islands.
Sheffield Island with its historic 142-year-old lighthouse, beaches and wildlife refuge offers abundant summer fun for visitors.
Visitors can board the Seaport Association's 45-foot C.J. Toth catamaran for a cruise to the island then tour the lighthouse, observe wildlife in their natural habitat in the Stewart B. McKinney National Wildlife Refuge, hunt for shells along the beach, dine on a clambake dinner, play on the lawns around the lighthouse and just have a good time. The lighthouse tower provides magnificent views of Long Island Sound and, on a clear day, of the New York City skyline.
Join us for one of the most exciting tours that the Norwalk Harbor Islands area has to offer! During this unforgettable adventure tour of Sheffield Island and Lighthouse, you'll step directly from the boat into the past. Sheffield Island is located in the outer reaches of Norwalk Harbor providing unique views of the city and the surrounding waterways.
Note: - Sheffield Island is a rocky outcrop with rolling terrain and the docking facilities do not meet ADA regulations. Every effort has been made to minimize non-compliance. The gangway leading from the dock to the island is wide enough to accommodate a standard wheelchair. The gangway incline (steepness) is determined by the height of the tide; at low tide it is steeper than at high tide. Due to liability concerns, the Sheffield Island staff is disallowed to assist with lifting or pushing a wheelchair or stroller. It will be important for the physically challenged to travel with a companion abled to assist them. -Tickets are non-refundable and cannot be rescheduled, unless tour is canceled by the Norwalk Seaport Association (i.e. in the event of severe weather). -All climbers must be at least 8 years old or 50 inches tall to be eligible to climb the tower. -Please wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes with a closed heal or back strap to keep the shoes on the feet. Flip-flops are not allowed due to safety concerns.
Please note: in order to sail, we require a minimum of 20 reserved spots.
Your boat leaves from the Sheffield Island Lighthouse dock located at the corner of North Water Street and Washington Street in Historic South Norwalk. Parking is available adjacent to the dock and the Norwalk Maritime Center Garage.
