The group has roots from over a decade ago when Lorie (guitar) and Gab (drums) were in high school together in Vermont playing in an all-girl rock band. Years later, they found themselves in Boston and decided to bring music back into their lives (which had been swallowed by their professional day jobs, in marketing and finance).
In 2012 fate brought them together with Bridget (vocals, songwriting) who wanted to try her hand at singing lead vocals in a band after being trained in music and theater her whole life. With the support of the group, Bridget discovered her talent for songwriting.
Bridget invited Christiana (keys, drums, vocals, songwriting) into the band in early 2014 to add the layers of vocal harmonies, keys and songwriting talents. After a few fun rehearsals together, they realized they had great musical chemistry and switched their focus to creating original songs.
Christiana soon invited Jane (cello) into the group, whom she knew from grad school. The sound was instantly solidified and new music has been pouring out of them at a rate not even they can keep up with!
As trained musicians since youth, they have all been playing music either professionally or for fun for most of their lives, but it wasn't until Paper Waves that they discovered their passion and excitement for writing and collaboration. The group inspires them to push our preconceived limits and hone their musicianship through songwriting, practicing and performing.
The dynamic, fun and energizing chemistry has resulted in the creation of an abundance of many new tunes, varying in style, from sexy and humorous ("Tiger Song"), to heartfelt ("The Night"), good ol' bluesy ("Play It Cool"), to sweet folk ("The Space"), upbeat rock ("White Flag," "Fire Inside"), and melancholic pop ("Seas Apart").
