Margot Melcon
In four Tuesday evening summer sessions Margot will take you through an active, participatory exploration of 8 questions that will bring you closer to understanding structure, identifying theme, and getting to the root of what a play is truly about. Using existing work and plays-in-progress, the class will actively discuss and practice how to use research, text analysis, cultural history, performance theory and collaboration to tell a story for the stage. You may also learn about presenting research and ideas in a collaborative way, how to re-think and adapt modes of storytelling to new contexts, how to identify and reach your audience, and some of the other roles of the dramaturg, including translator, teacher and, let's just say it, magician. Open to all theater learn tools dramaturgs use to unlock a play with more clarity and depth.
**THIS EVENT HAS A STRICT REFUND POLICY. No refunds will be processed by Brown Paper Tickets more than 12 hours after the time of purchase without the authorization of the producer.**
