Second Half: A Lively Look at Life After Fifty
Local author, columnist, amateur thespian and raconteur, Tracey Barnes Priestley, is performing in her own show entitled: "The Second HalfA Lively Look at Life After Fifty" at the Arcata Playhouse on Mother's Day week-end, Friday and Saturday May 6 & 7. It is an evening of entertainment with song and dance, but with a purpose: to acknowledge the changing bodies and times and world we live in as we grow older, while exploring how to make the most of the "Second Half" of life.
The show is based on Tracey's column in the Times-Standard called "The Second Half" in which she answers letters and e-mail from readers with issues involving retirement, relationships and the reality of being over fifty in the 21st century. In collaboration with Valerie Gillett-Bourne, also well-known to local theater audiences, Tracey illuminates our lives, hopes and dreams, making us laugh and see ourselves in new ways, with new roles to play in our own second half of life. Come see what happens when two talented women join creative forces. Treat yourself, bring your friends, or give your mom a great Mother's Day present! See you there!
"The Second HalfA Lively Look at Life After Fifty" is playing Friday and Saturday nights, May 6 & 7, at 7:30 p.m. in the Arcata Playhouse, 1251-9th Street, Arcata.
