Suburbia Roller Derby vs. Queen City
Suburbia Roller Derby (# 12 in the East) takes on Queen City Roller Girls' Lake Effect Furies (#17) in the last home bout of our spring season, Saturday May 21st, at the Yonkers PAL (127 N. Broadway). Cheer on your Suburban Brawl as they battle it out for a shot at the Eastern Regionals against the hard-hitting women of Buffalo. Doors open at 6pm and special guest Mark Linn-Baker (renowned performer and director, best known in his role as Larry Appleton on ABC's "Perfect Strangers") blows the starting whistle at 7pm.
General admission tickets are available for $12 presale, and $15 at the door. VIP trackside seating is $20 and VIP tickets include a derby-themed goodie bag and skate-tress service. Children under 8 are free with an adult. Food, drinks, and beer are available for sale.
Queen City Roller Girls started in 2006, and now has over 120 members. At each home bout they host, they donate a portion of all ticket sales to a designated charity, such as the Girls Sports Foundation, Crisis Services and the Food Bank of WNY. At our bout on 5/21, we are collecting food for the Community Food Pantry of Sleepy Hollow/Tarrytown. Fans who bring five or more cans of food get $2 off one admission. For every five items donated, fans receive one raffle ticket for a chance to win two GA tix to any 2011 bout! The more food you bring, the more chances you have to win!
The Community Food Pantry (located at 43 South Broadway, Tarrytown) started in December of 2009 to serve our local families and individuals in need. It is a volunteer-run effort to provide underserved residents and families with food and related supplies. We appreciate your support!
Make sure you join us as we move for our summer season over at EJ Murrays. After one year off, our home teams are back for the summercheck out the Country Clubbers vs. Indian Point Sirens on June 11th, Botoxic Avengers vs. Country Clubbers on July 9th, Indian Point Sirens vs. Botoxic Avengers July 30th, and the Championship bout on August 20th!
