North Country Bluegrass Band & Gold Heart
We're proud to host a very special event with two amazing groups!
North Country Bluegrass Band Based out of Seattle, Washington, the North Country Bluegrass Band is one of the premier traditional bluegrass bands from the Northwest. North Country was founded in 2012 when the guys were jamming together at a local bluegrass event in Seattle. They quickly found a unique chemistry and demonstrated the same love for music, songwriting, and instrumental dynamics. Within the first year of formation, the band played at prominent music venues, including Wintergrass and the historic Paramount Theater. Since then, they have continued to build their repertoire and toured throughout the United States and Canada.
In July 2014, the band released their first album titled "Won't Be Over You," which was named one of the top ten bluegrass albums of 2014 by KCBS radio. The album demonstrated both the band's instrumental talent and songwriting ability. Furthermore, it showed the band's ability to bring classic country and folk music into a traditional bluegrass style.
Gold Heart Featuring the Gold sisters Tori (mandolin), Jocey (guitar), and Shelby (fiddle) have been touring world wide and astounding audiences with their fun personalities, intense harmonies and brilliant musicianship since 2005. With nearly ten years on the bluegrass scene, hundreds of live performances and now four albums under their belt, Gold Heart is elated to join Mountain Fever Records. Of the trio, Keith Lawrence of Bluegrass Notes stated, "If angels sing bluegrass, this is what it sounds like."
These young artists are expert songwriters, with Jocey and Shelby contributing the majority of the band's impressive material. At age fifteen, Jocey was one of three finalists of 983 contestants in the 2008 Chris Austin Songwriters Competition (bluegrass category) at MerleFest. The work of the sisters can be heard on their previous recordings, My Sisters and Me, Never Let Go and Journey to Heaven's Bright Shore.
The five-piece band, GOLD HEART, featuring the Gold sisters, Tori, Jocey, and Shelby have earned great appreciation and respect from the bluegrass and acoustic communities. Their award-winning instrumental ability and their accomplished, harmony-laden vocals are sweetly unique and rootsy. The Gold Sisters released their 4th project on May 26th, 2015. The album is entitled Places I've Been and was produced by Ron Stewart, of The Boxcars. Places I've Been features 12 all original songs, including the fan favorites "Ain't That Crazy", "Raleigh" and "You Make Me Smile". Gold Heart is a tight group that will astonish you from the first note to the last. They have set high standards and this band won't disappoint.
The Gold Sisters give God above all the glory. They credit Him alone for their talent and ability. Through their music, they hope to inspire souls to look up to the Author and Creator of life. If even in some small way, their songs encourage listeners, give hope or bring a smile, then they are happy.
