Telegraph String Quartet: presented by Noe Valley Chamber Music
On November 1, 2015 at 4:00pm NVCM presents the Telegraph String Quartet at St. Mark's Lutheran Church.

Described alternately as "intensely urgent" and "poignantly resonant", the Telegraph Quartet received the prestigious Grand Prize in the 2014 Fischoff Chamber Music Competition and has gone on to perform in concert halls, music festivals, and academic institutions across the United States, from Santa Barbara to New York.

PROGRAM: Joseph Haydn String Quartet in C major, Op. 20, No. 2 Erwin Schulhoff 5 pieces John Harbison String Quartet No. 2 Ludwig Van Beethoven Große Fuge, Op 133
The performance lasts approximately 2 hours, including a short intermission with wine available for purchase. Audience members have the chance to mingle with the performers while enjoying light refreshments immediately following the performance.
TICKETS are $20-30, FREE for children 12 and under. ($30 at the door, with a discount for students, seniors and advance purchases.)

ABOUT THE QUARTET: The Telegraph Quartet was formed in September 2013 in San Francisco and shortly after their inception won the prestigious Grand Prize in the international Fischoff Chamber Music Competition (May 2014). The quartet was selected to be one of the Shouse Institute Ensembles, at the Great Lakes Music Festival, directed by Paul Katz, for the summer of 2014. 2014/15 season highlights include a three-concert series at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, a residency with San Francisco Friends of Chamber Music's Presidio Concert Series, and a feature as guest ensemble for the opening concerts at Kneisel Hall Music Festival.
Members of the quartet have performed in concert halls and music festivals across the U.S. and abroad, including Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall, the Kennedy Center for Performing Arts in Washington D.C., the Hartt School at University of Hartford, Music at Gretna, Art Center Chamber Music Concerts in Teaneck NJ, and internationally from Shanghai and Taiwan to Tijuana. The quartet is dedicated to educating and inspiring the next generation of musicians and members of the quartet have coached and taught at a variety of institutions including residencies at San Diego State University and faculty positions at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music Pre-College Division. Also in demand as guest teachers at summer festivals and chamber programs across the country, members have taught at Yellow Barn's Young Artist Program in Putney, Vermont; Chamber Music Connection in Columbus, Ohio, Hausmann Chamber Music Program in San Diego; the Hartt School at University of Hartford, and SoCal Chamber Music Workshops at Scripps College in Claremont, CA.
The members of the quartet are graduates of top conservatories and universities including The Juilliard School, The Cleveland Institute of Music, Rice University and San Francisco Conservatory of Music.

Noe Valley Chamber Music (NVCM) has been presenting superb chamber music to audiences in Noe Valley since 1992.
