Rat City Rollergirls Makin' Bacon Derby Camp
The Rat City Rollergirls' annual Makin' Bacon Derby Camp mixes the shenanigans of all those summer camp movies (cabins, contests, short shorts) with teaching skaters the amazing sport of roller derby.
The four-week camp will include two indoor skating practices per week and one outdoor skate/off-skates workout per week (12 practices total). Sundays 2-4pm, Tuesdays 6-8pm and Thursdays 7-9pm. Skaters will also receive a T-shirt, and get to attend a campfire awards ceremony at the end of camp.
Makin' Bacon Derby Camp is for novice skaters and above. You must have skating experience, and must meet all of the Women's Flat Track Derby Association minimum skills found here: http://wftda.com/rules/wftda-minimum-skill-requirements.pdf
Skaters will learn derby fundamentals and strategy they need to take their game to the next level, and will get a head start on fitness in preparation for fall tryouts.
