Guest Speaker: Archivist BILL SHELLEY
Every since he emerged as one of the leaders of Englandâs Glam Rock scene in the late 1960âs, David Bowie has been an iconic figure in contemporary music. Bowieâs music and image have constantly evolved over his long career, morphing from the psychedelic space opera and androgynous persona of Ziggy Stardust, through the American-style soul of the Thin White Duke, and on to his later experiments with electronica. Bowieâs wide range of musical talent has influenced countless other singers from different genres of music. Join us for a one-night-only tribute to this influential singer, songwriter, record producer, and actor. Archivist Bill Shelley will present rare performances of Bowieâs biggest hits, including Space Oddity, The Jean Genie, Young Americans, Fame, Changes, Rebel, Rebel, Suffragette City, Golden Years, Heroes, and many more! No Bowie fan will want to miss this amazing evening of Bowieâs performances, starting with his first big hit in 1969, and focusing on his acts from the 1970âs until the 1990âs. Approx. 90 min.
