Authentic Scottish/Irish foods (fish n' chips, meat pies, etc.) plus Okie Dokie Bar-B-Q will be served! Prices vary.
The Swannanoa Valley, one of the gateways to settlement of Western Carolina, was largely settled by Celtic pioneers. These Scottish and Irish immigrants brought their traditions with them their songs and stories, their crafts and games and their legacy is celebrated in the Second Annual WNC Highlands Celtic Festival. Musical performances by various national and international touring acts run the complete range from the ultra-traditional to Celtic rock, and include noted spin-offs such as bluegrass, along with some surprising ties to other musical genres. Performing are Albannach, Rathkeltair, Marcille Wallis & Friends, Ennis Pruitt, Montreat Scottish Pipes & Drums, Pipapelli, Uncle Hamish and the Hooligans, and Michael DeLalla. Border Collie demonstration, Highland Athletics demonstration, Scottish Country Dance demonstration, vendors, clans.
