Mother's Day Potluck at Pleasantview Farm
Events at Pleasantview Farm always stem from the idea that we can always learn from others -- and what better way to learn, than through experience over a meal! This event brings urban and suburban folks to a local organic dairy so they can see, ask questions and discuss, firsthand, how certified organic dairy cows are milked and live. The main focus of the event will be to allow Slow Food members and friends to experience and learn what it takes to get organic milk from the cow to the table. They will also experience a meal prepared with farm-fresh dairy products while having the opportunity to discuss what they have learned... all taking place at a certified Ohio Century farm.
Guests will arrive at 3:00 p.m. and will be greeted with appetizers consisting of fresh farm made ricotta cheese infused with farm raised honey, topped with walnuts and homemade organic Belgian-style beer. At 4:00, we will tour the dairy. At 5:30, we will return to the house for meatloaf sandwiches, made with farm-raised grassfed beef and mozzarella, along with side dishes and beverages provided by guests.
