We want to celebrate with you!
You, your family and friends are invited to join First Call's staff and Coordinating Committee members for a picnic lunch in Trout Lake Park on June 21st, to celebrate National Aboriginal Day, Father's Day and your generous support of First Call!
June 21st is National Aboriginal Day, a day for all Canadians to celebrate the cultures and contributions to Canada of First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples. The Vancouver National Aboriginal Day Organizing Committee is hosting a community-based, full day of events at Trout Lake Park that will showcase and celebrate the diversity of Aboriginal people from across Canada. There will be a main stage with entertainment, a Teepee Village with activities for children and families, an Arts & Crafts Fair and a Resource Fair, Interactive Artist Demo's and even a Canoe demonstration!
First Call staff and Coordinating Committee members plan to show solidarity by walking in the Friendship Walk from the Vancouver Aboriginal Friendship Centre to Trout Lake and then we will have a picnic lunch (provided by First Call) and attend the celebrations in Trout Lake Park. We hope that you can join us for either the walk, the picnic, or both!
