Mama's Black Sheep & Christine Havrilla @ THE BEVY! (Live Recording Show!)
On November 6th, 2015 nationally touring artists Mama's Black Sheep from Baltimore MD invite you to be a part of their live recording audience! Instead of releasing just a new audio CD in 2016, Mama's Black Sheep will record a Live Concert Video with accompanying Audio CD this November at The Bevy in Birdtown!! Be a part of the recording experience as Mama's Black Sheep (full band) plays a set of their previously unrecorded original songs as well as some of their most loved cover tunes. This new DVD/CD set is scheduled to be released in early 2016. Special guest Singer-Songwriter Christine Havrilla of Philadelphia kicks off the show and will join the band for a few songs as well! The Bevy features a menu of casual cuisine plus Craft beers and Seasonal House Cocktails. They have a great stage that hosts local, regional, and national acts, and are located at 12112 Madison Ave, Lakewood, OH 44107. Show starts at 8pm, doors open at 7pm. Tickets are $10.
Mama's Black Sheep is the musical collaboration of singer-songwriters Ashland Miller (guitar/vocals) and Laura Cerulli (drums/vocals). Touring together since 2008 and both veterans of the singer-songwriter circuit, Miller & Cerulli will make you feel like you've been listening to their music for years. Driven by Miller's versatile guitar grooves, Cerulli's innovative percussion, and two voices that blend like honey and whiskey, Mama's Black Sheep create acoustic rock & blues with a style that is distinctly their own. Together Miller and Cerulli create a unique tapestry of songs, weaving vibrant color and rich texture to create a dynamic conversation between guitar, percussion and two voices made to sing together. Miller's passionate voice will make you laugh, cry, feel inspired, and ultimately want more. And Bob Steel of Baltimore Out Loud writes "Cerulli opens her mouth and the world stands still as she wrings every drop of emotion out of the lyrics with her powerful, soaring voice, forged in the fire of the blues and tempered in the cool technique of her classical training." Award-winning Philadelphia native Christine Havrilla brings her "well-built, catchy, smart tunes" (Upstage Magazine) to audiences everywhere, touring nationally solo and also with the support of her band, Gypsy Fuzz. Christine utilizes the soft gritty texture of her vocals to express warmth and honesty listeners quickly embrace as well as her aggressive, raw, trash-style guitar playing. Mike "Jacobs" McKenna of Steel Notes Magazine states, "This CD (Vol. 2- The Sunset Sessions) just defies description. It is hot, tight, precise and just plain kicks ass. This ambitious Philly native manifests her talent in certain ways that allows her to create eclectic music which will grab your heart and leave a lasting memory. Her Roots/Folk/Americana background coupled with that unique individuality that she possesses allows her to be a presence that steps into many genres and gives her the tools to crossover to different music formats."
