Xeriscaping With Our Regional Native Plant
Local botanist and experimental horticulturist Diane Stutzman has been fortunate to work in natural resources, exploring our regional forests and sagebrush steppe for the last 20 years. She has been experimenting with dryland plants in her home landscape for the last 7 years, in conjunction with starting a nursery, Desert Jewels Nursery, and would like to share with you some of the things she's learned about gardening with native plants.
* Learn how you can help the planet and create a beautiful yard by planting our regional native plants. * Learn why planting natives really counts, not just because they lower water & fertilizer expenses. * View a slide show featuring xeric (dryland) plants in the home landscape. * Take home plant lists of recommended plants and their characteristics.
"As gardeners and stewards of our land, we have never been so empowered to help save biodiversity from extinction, and the need to do so has never been so great. All we need to do is plant native plants!" Dr. Douglas Tallamy
