Farm to Table Dinner
Slow Food Harrisburg's Farm to Table dinner series will feature heirloom free-range chicken and fresh earth popping spring greens. Meet the producers (bringing the farm to the table) and enjoy a delicious four course dinner. It will be held at 6:00 PM on April 30 at The Cellar restaurant, Camp Hill.
Our headliner chicken, Rhode Island Red, has been called an iconic symbol of American agriculture and honored by two historic monuments. It is listed in Slow Food's Arc of Taste. Developed in Rhode Island around the 1880s, the breed sports deep reddish feathers and pink comb, remnants of its Malay, Shanghai and Java ancestry.
Other featured products include dandelion and red amaranth, tonic for the winter-weary soul. Enjoy a complimentary glass of sparkling wine during the reception. The dinner is BYOB.
