THE POOP ON SHARON MATTHEWS!

Sharron Matthews is what you might call a "multi tasker". She can be seen in films, on TV, the stage, in musical theatre, in plays and in her greatest passion, cabaret. She
performs and she produces. In the hit movie Mean Girls, she played Joan the Secretary alongside Tina Fey. Sharron was also featured in the films Cinderella Man, Take the
Lead, The Music Man movie for Disney and Hairspray: The Movie.

On TV, Sharron can currently be seen playing Daphne on Vision TVʼs newest series,"She's the Mayor" and this summer she will be one of the stars of Globalʼs newest reality TV show " Canada Sings".

Theatrical performances include Madame Thenardier in Les Miserable, Lottie in original cast of the Harold Prince revival of Showboat, Babette in Beauty and the
Beast at the Princess of Wales and the Narrator in two sold out runs of Joseph and His Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat. She played the Wicked Witch of the West in the acclaimed LKTYP production of Wizard of Oz for which she was nominated for a Dora Award the same year Sharron had the honour of hosting the Doras Awards at the Winter Garden Theatre.

Sharron was named "Best Cabaret Performer" in 2009 by the Now Magazine and her singular creations have traveled the country to great acclaim including the hit "Sharron's Party" which ran in Toronto for 5 years, "Sharron's Big Broadway Show" which is booked all over Ontario during the 2010/11 season and "Sharron Matthews and the Panik Attack" which played to a sold out crowd at the Canwest Cabaret
Festival in 2009. Before appearing in front of another sold out crowd at the Global Cabaret Festival in 2010, she was named one of "The Great Artists Taking The Fall" by Now Magazine.

In 2010 Sharron was honoured to receive a Harold Award for her "outstanding contribution to Torontoʼs independant performing arts scene."

As for musical recordings Sharron can be heard of the Broadway revival CD of Harold Princeʼs "Showboat", and the "The Music Man" movie soundtrack for Disney. This past year she released her first solo CD "Party Girl" which features her own unique interpretations of pop tunes you know and love...with a twist. In June of 2010, "Sharron Matthews Superstar: World Domination Tour 2010" debuted in New York as the "Criticʼs Pick" in Time Out New York at the legendary
Joe's Pub in the Public Theatre. She received rave reviews. Her New York show was recently named the "#1 Cabaret in New York City in 2010" by Nite Life Exchange.

"Not only was this show a complete and utter triumph on all counts, but serves as testament to the fact that a chanteuse as riveting and brilliant as Matthews proved on this night should wholeheartedly be welcomed to New York and
elsewhere with unabashedly open arms.....If this gal isn't at the very least in the running for Outstanding Female Vocalist, or Outstanding Female Debut (because
she could indeed find herself eligible for both), one can only wonder precisely what both the nominating committee and the voting board were thinking. Rarely in the last forty years of the art form, has someone blown into town as a virtual unknown, been booked into one of the most prestigious rooms the city has to offer and then proceed to put forth an evening comparable only to the work of a
very young Bette Midler at the Continental Baths. And whether or not a nomination is in the cards for her this season, she needs no help from anyone to emerge at all turns as simply dazzling." Nite Life Exchange
