Science: Robert Vamosi: The Dark Side of Digital Technology
Technology is evolving faster than we are, and as our mobile phones, mp3 players, cars, and digital cameras become more complex, we understand less about how they work and what these gadgets might reveal about us. Journalist/analyst Robert Vamosi, author of When Gadgets Betray Us, explores the risks of digital capability and convenience'such as hotel-room TV remotes that can be used to steal account information, toll-booth transponders that can be stolen and cloned, and car data-storage systems that can be used in court against us. Presented as part of Seattle Science Lectures, with Pacific Science Center and University Book Store. Series sponsored by Microsoft. Series media sponsorship provided by KPLU.
