Broadway Star Paulette Ivory
Actress, dancer, and singer Paulette Ivory will make her Palm Springs debut at Blame It On Midnight's Cabaret Room on Sunday, April 10th. The art of cabaret may not be Ms. Ivory's usual fare, having honed her craft on the big stages in both the United Kingdom's "West End" and it's equivalent in New York's Broadway. With leading roles in such hits as Aida, Purlie, A Woman Of No Importance, The Lion King, Smokey Joe's Café, Buddy, Fela, West Side Story, Hot Mikado, and Piaf. The show will feature songs from the Great American Songbook including standards and Broadway hits from some of the great composers of our time. Joining her will be local musical director and pianist, David Hirsch, who many may know from his weekly gigs at the Rivera Hotel.
Paulette is no stranger to the small screen either with a number of guest-star roles on American television and even more on the BBC, several film roles and currently has recurring roles on TV soap operas. Her awards and nominations are too many to list here but she most covets her nomination for The Helen Hayes Award for best leading actress. Having just finished a production in Pasadena of a revival of Pal Joey, Ms Ivory is returning to Broadway and her role in Fela. She also has hit recording currently on the charts in Japan.
Cover charge for the Sunday, April 10th show is $10 cash only at the door and reservations may be made at 760-325-2731. Show time is 8 PM and the doors to the cabaret room open at 6 PM with full menu, appetizer, and cocktail service before the show.
