Jennie McNulty with Lisa Koch (special guest Peggy Platt)
L.A. comic Jennie McNulty joins Seattle singer/comedian Lisa Koch and her comic pal Peggy Platt for a night of queer comedy and twisted tunes, Sunday June 5 at Theatre Off Jackson.
Recently rated among the Top 10 Lesbian Comics by Curve Magazine, and "one of the premiere comedians in the country" by the New England Blade, Jennie can currently be seen on MTV Network's LOGO channel in the comedy special "One Night Stand Up." She is the host of her own signature bi-weekly walking talk show, "Jennie McNulty Presents: Walking Funny With..." on the premiere lesbian website, AfterEllen.com. Episodes of "Walking Funny" have included guest appearances with comics Vickie Shaw, Julie Goldman and Suzanne Westenhoefer, and athletes like women's soccer gold medalist Saskia Webber and swimmer Diana Nyad. Jennie has traveled the world doing comedy... literally. In addition to headlining in comedy clubs all over the US and Canada, she has entertained the troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. She also does comedy in more peaceful settings, including entertaining the ladies on Olivia and Sweet Cruises and at the iconic Dinah Shore Weekend event in Palm Springs. She has performed at The Toronto Gay and Lesbian Comedy Festival and countless Pride events coast to coast. She has also become a favorite summer performer at regular gigs in Provincetown, where she enjoys engaging the crowd through frequent and hilarious improvisation, and at Harrah's Casino in Las Vegas. Jennie also produces the popular "Rainbow" and "GOLD!" Comedy Nights in Ventura and West Hollywood, teaches comedy classes as "The Joke Doctor" (www.thejokedr.com), and was featured as a physical trainer on the hit NBC Show "Starting Over."
AND...in her spare time, Jennie plays women's tackle football for the California Quake in the Independent Women's Football League.
Seattle singer/comedian Lisa Koch is one-half of loony sketch-comedy duo Dos Fallopia ("Ham for the Holidays" with comic Peggy Platt), has released 4 solo CD's, and has shared the stage with a diverse group of artists, including Steve Martin, Dave Brubeck, Janis Ian, Indigo Girls, and Suzanne Westenhoefer.
Koch is a favorite on Seattle stages (5th Avenue, Cabaret de Paris, Triple Door, Theatre Off Jackson), and performs regularly on Olivia Cruises. She has been seen on LOGO, is the winner of a Just Plain Folks Award, and is the composer of Off-Broadway musical, "27, rue de Fleurus". Her "Tall Cool Drink" CD contains the viral hit, "I'm a Middle-Aged Woman." Peggy Platt is well known to Seattle audiences as an actor and comedian, and for her collaboration with Koch in Dos Fallopia and "Ham for the Holidays".
