NJW Snap on 2&4 w/ Chester Thompson
The Nashville Jazz Workshop is proud to present a special Snap on 2&4 with the great drummer Chester Thompson, Saturday, June 27 at 8pm in the Jazz Cave at the Workshop.
In three decades of performance and recording, Chester Thompson has influenced countless musicians in the fields of jazz, pop, rock, and gospel. Besides a stint with Weather Report, Chester's resume also includes Frank Zappa, Genesis, and Phil Collins. At home in many styles, Chester has made frequent appearances in the Jazz Cave, as a sideman, with his trio, and as a bandleader. For this performance, he'll present a program that includes many styles and rhythms -- you won't want to miss this! Chester will be joined by Rod McGaha (trumpet), Matt Endahl (piano), and Jon Estes (bass).
There will be two sets beginning at 8:00 pm in the Jazz Cave at the Workshop. Admission is $20 / $10 high school and college students with ID. Tickets will go on sale Monday, June 15 at 10AM and will be available online, by phone 24/7 at Brown Paper Tickets (800-838-3006) or during business hours at the NJW office (242-5299). A small convenience charge is added to online or 800-number purchases.
