ScriptTease

Interrobang joins forces with Theater Schmeater and The 14/48 Projects to present four editions of "Script Tease." Each night will feature a different playwright, director, and cast of six actors, some from the improvised theater community, some from the scripted community. In November 2013, Domeka Parker created "Script Tease" with the Brody Theater in Portland. In June 2014, she workshopped the format with Interrobang in Seattle. In November 2014, Interrobang brought it to a Seattle stage for the first time. Now, we'll bring four new productions to the stage. Each night, a playwright will have written the first six pages of a full-length play. The actors will be assigned their roles and given their scripts for the first time on stage. Once each has finished silently reading the script, the play will begin. The actors will perform a staged reading of those six pages, then lay the scripts aside and finish the two-act play via improvisation. Tickets are $10 at the door. Produced and curated by Dave Clapper (Interrobang), Catherine Blake Smith (Annex), Julia Griffin (Theater Schmeater), and Megan Ahiers (14/48). Artist roster to be announced as it's finalized.
