WeDo/SuGO Workshops
STEMaction is offering a full fun day of robotics for youth ages 7 to 11. In this workshop you will build with two different LEGO kits:
1. LEGO Education WeDo Robotics For half of the day your child will work with one partner and a WeDo kit to build and program models featuring working motors and sensors.
For a cool video showing the WeDos in action go to:http://tinyurl.com/p3dw4uj
2. SuGO bots based on LEGO NXT Mindstorms For the other half of the day teams of two will build SuGO Battle Bots and compete in a SuGO tournament. What is SuGO? It combines the fun of NXT Mindstorms with the sport of Sumo wrestling! After the bots are built it is time to hit the competition ring for a thrilling and fun tournament. For more details on SuGO see www.sugobot.com
No previous building experience is necessary. These are beginner SuGO bots which use just two motors. The SuGO bots for older youth are more complex with three motors.
We are running this workshop twice. You may enroll in one or both sessions. The wide variety of robot plans available allow for a fresh experience each time if you choose to do both sessions.
