Local Valley Favorite, Keisha D in "Keep Calm, It's Only Love"
Keisha appears regularly in musical reviews, weekly performances at local clubs, restaurants and nightspots. Keisha was seen as Motormouth Maybelle in "Hairspray", Melpomene in "Zanadu", and The Acid Queen in "The Who's Tommy", both at Palm Canyon Theatre. She won Best Vocalist in the acclaimed McCallum Theatre Open Call Competition in 2008. Keisha headlines at benefits for various Valley charities several times a year and is a featured vocalist at both her church and others throughout the desert. Working with musical director, Charlie Creasy, they've put together a show that brings together music from several genres with an emphasis on love songs. Some of her inspirations are singers such as Etta James, Ella Fitzgerald, and Sarah Vaughn. "Keisha's special guest is local cabaret singer and actor Jerome Elliott for some duets and solos and promises us some other fun surprise." says series producer, Les Michaels. Keisha will be backed by Charlie Creasy on piano and a trio that includes; Jeff Stover, Andrew Fraga, and Joe Canoura.
