Nutcracker
30th Season for the exciting presentation of the National Ballet Company's stunning performance of "The Nutcracker" December 11 - 16, 2015 at the Father Hartke Theater on the campus of the Catholic University of America. Known for their artistic excellence and technical brilliance, dancers from around the world bring the holiday classic to life with a seldom seen today traditional staging of the classic work. The professional artists are joined by local children which warm the hearts of the audience in the Party Scene with their youthful dramatic skills at play, as determined soldiers battling the humorous mice and Russian swirling peppermint sticks followed by the adorable Bon Bons with Mother Ginger and the confectioner. Jessica Stibick and Georgi Rusafov are featured as the Sugar Plum Fairy and Cavalier with Wallis Evalina Wallis Cain Carbonell as Clara.
Founded in 1948 by Helen Moore the National Ballet has continued its mission of brining the joy of dance to the people at an affordable price. Under the direction of Pamela Moore the company has received many grants to provide low cost performances to school groups, senior citizens and organizations. Based in Anne Arundel County, Maryland NBC has performed at the Kennedy Center, the White House, Carter Baron, Lisner Auditorium and toured in Canada and the US.
