A Jazzy Evening In Red
The South Side Jazz Coalition is a group of Chicago music industry professionals who see a need for more live performance venues and educational opportunities on the south side of Chicago. The members of the coalition are Mo' Better Jazz producer Darius Lawrence, Educator Dr. Clifton Underwood, Vocalist-Producer Sasha Daltonn, Bassist-Educator Chuck Webb, Drummer-Educator Charles "Rick" Heath and Vocalist Margaret Murphy-Webb. This August 1st, the SSJC will host it's first fundraiser in order to bring back the legendary South Shore Jazz Festival! A Jazzy Evening in Red will feature Chicago Jazz Legends Willie Pickens, Ari Brown and Bobbi Wilysn in concert. The Future Band comprised of young up and coming musicians will also perform along with the talented D. Millz. There will be a full buffet brought to you by the fantastic Chef Jimmy Carter and some surprise guests. Buy your tickets now as seating is limited. This will be the jazz event of the summer! Free Secured Parking. 100% of the proceeds from this fundraiser will be used in the revitalization of the South Shore Jazz Festival.
