Jonathan Franzen presents Purity
Saturday, September 26, 6:30 PM Jonathan Franzen presents Purity In conversation with interviewer TBA Tickets $30 (includes a copy of the book) Part of the Brooklyn Voices Series presented by Greenlight Bookstore and St. Joseph's College
Jonathan Franzen's new novel Purity is a grand story of youthful idealism, extreme fidelity, and murder. The author of The Corrections and Freedom has imagined a world of vividly original characters -- Californians and East Germans, good parents and bad parents, journalists and leakers -- and he follows their intertwining paths through landscapes as contemporary as the omnipresent Internet and as ancient as the war between the sexes.
Greenlight Bookstore and St. Joseph's College host Franzen for a reading and discussion of his work, followed by a book signing.
--
Jonathan Franzen is the author of four other novels, most recently Freedom and The Corrections, and five works of nonfiction and translation, including The Kraus Project and Farther Away, all published by FSG. He is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Letters, the German Akademie der Künste, and the French Ordre des Arts et des Lettres.

Greenlight Bookstore has partnered with St. Joseph's College since 2012 to present the Brooklyn Voices series of literary presentations and discussions at Tuohy Hall, part of the college's historic Pratt-designed Brooklyn campus.
