Fiddler on the Roof taps into themes that touch us all: family, tradition and changing social values.
The story of Tevye, the dairy farmer in Anatevka, and his family has resonated with audiences for 50 years. His attempts to honor and maintain the Jewish religious customs of his ancestors are tested by his daughters yearning to live a more modern life. All the while, social turmoil surrounds both family and village. But Teyve's faith and love for his family give him strength to fight for all he believes in.
