Farms and Food Forever
Farms and Food Forever
Our culture, our community, our sense of place-these are all tied inextricably to the land. Upstate Forever's Land Trust Program seeks to protect these incredible special places that contribute to the culture and sense of place of our communities.
The terms of a conservation agreement are negotiated around the kitchen table, and vary greatly depending on the landowner's plans for their property.
Join Slow Food Upstate and Upstate Forever as we gather around the table and share a meal together, and learn about the Land Trust Program at Bio-Way Farms. Generously sponsored by Wholefoods Market in Greenville, enjoy a delicious meal from local farms to benefit the Upstate Forever Land Trust Program.

Menu from Local Farms
Hors-d'oeuvres:
Gazpacho Shots
Watermelon Mint bites

Dinner:

Tomato Mozzarella Salad
Skewered Meats with Peppers and Onions
Grilled Veggies
Reezy Peezy or Sea Island Red Peas Succotash

Blueberry Peach Cobbler (with Anson Mills Gluten free flour) with Peach Ice cream
A generous meal elegantly served with appetizers, meats, and of course,
fresh vegetables from BIO-WAY  farm.
$45.00 dinner only
$55.00 with beer and wine option

Your ticket price will substantially help the Land Trust Program, thanks to the sponsorship by Wholefoods Market, Anson Mills, and Slow Food Upstate. Thank you!

"There's a peace in knowing that when we're gone, this farm will always remain."

Upstate Forever currently protects nearly 18,500 acres on 97 properties through a tool called a conservation agreement. A conservation agreement (also called a conservation easement) is a voluntary agreement between a landowner and a land trust, which allows the landowner to legally restrict certain undesirable land uses from occurring on his or her property.
Upstate Forever was awarded accreditation by the Land Trust Accreditation Commission in 2008, an achievement that proves they meet the highest standards of their profession.
