The Local Music Scene Presents The Drug Budget (7-18)
Every month, a different local musician is interviewed and performs their original music. Having listened closely, the comedians from the local improv group The Local Music Scene then take the words and themes brought up through the songs and interview and use them as the basis and inspiration for their improvised scenes.
The Local Music Scene is: Alex Collyard, Philip Simondet, Luke Gonnella, Jeff Gyllen, Caroline Hitt, Gubby Kubik, Erik Nielsen, Will Roberts and Ali Rose. They are an improv group that has trained and performed at various local improv theater, including The Brave New Workshop, ComedySportz Twin Cities, HUGE Theater, Stevie Ray's and Jesters. All of them either ARE local musicians or at least enjoy local music. At the VERY least, they've heard the term "local music."
July guest: The Drug Budget is a very large band. You're probably in it. They say the genre they fit into is "music." This band is a legend of the local music scene. Are they even real? Maybe. Their Facebook page lists several prestigious awards such as: "Best Band" by Band Weekly for 76 consecutive weeks | Nobel Prize | #1 in Vita.mn's 2013 "Spam-Of-The-Year" Poll | Smallest Vagina | Award Of The State | Most Torque and Horsepower by Car and Driver Magazine | Honorary Ambassador of Unnecessary Band Members of America (UBMA) | "Neat" | Minnesota Music Awards Honorable Non-Mention | 5th Horseman | 6th Beatle | Pablo Picasso "I Don't Get It" Award by some fucking art dude.
In short, The Drug Budget is certainly a band.
