An Evening with AMBER LEIGH WHITE
Amber Leigh White, originally of Edna, Texas, returns home to present her music to the hometown fans at the Rear Window Listening Room in Ganado! Come join us in welcoming Amber home, and get to know her music in an intimate venue, up close and personal. You will have an opportunity to meet her and learn of her adventures as well as what is to come. Her all original show will be one you will thoroughly enjoy.
Says Amber ...
"Life is music", says Amber Leigh White, who, in 1991 pulled out of the driveway in Edna, Texas with her baby girl, and began her journey to write and sing the songs of her heart. She worked three seasons on a West Texas movie set called Alamo Village in Brackettville, TX, (the place of John Wayne's "Alamo"). Amber cut her writer's teeth on the Wild West, writing and singing with other country entertainers growing up with young talent. With a bunch of songs and crazy dreams, Amber packed up her little Grand Am and headed to Nashville, TN in 1994.
"Work, work, work!" The best words to describe that time when she was crafting her career as an artist, in a place where no one knew her name. Amber and her daughter Jordyn began a long climb to survive on the Nashville music scene, beginning with writing and performing in a group called "The Young Writers", where she met and worked with Blake Shelton for the first time. In the past 20 years, Amber has held several solid publishing deals, the most notable resulting in a break to record for Dreamworks Records with her own true story, "Easy Lovin' You", about her teenage pregnancy.
After the label closed in 2004, due to merger, Amber was once again searching for a music home. She continues to write and publish with "some of the most talented people of her life", many of whom have become good friends, including Blake, Luke Bryan, and Jake Owen. Notable songs she co-wrote are "You Make Me Want To" with Luke Bryan and "One Like That" with The Voice finalist Gwen Sebastian. One of her recent writing successes, "Collide" is now available on iTunes. Along with part-time studio work, raising a family, cosmetology school, and the start-up of a small business, Amber pursues her dream at songwriter nights and other small shows. Now signed with Dune Grass Music Publishing, she is recording songs close to her Texas roots and finding her audience again. "Never too late and thankful for every mile."
