Irie Vibes Music Festival
The Third Annual Irie Vibes will be held August 14th-16th, 2015 in Forest City, NC at Copper Mines Event Park. We will be hosting some of the best reggae bands from all over the Southeast on three stages. We will have camping, vendors, yoga, and so much more! We can't wait to have you here and share another great year! Band announcements and more details coming soon!
Here is just a little more information about who we are and what we hope to accomplish at the third annual Irie Vibes Music Festival. The idea for the Irie Vibes Music Festival came about late in 2012, in part due to the lack of East Coast reggae outlets. There are so many great reggae-based bands on the East and we hope to expose fans to these amazing musicians that exude notions of positivity and social responsibility. This is a fully grassroots festival and all organizers are volunteering their time and resources to make this festival a great experience. The first annual Irie Vibes Music Festival was created by a small group of individuals with the goal of bringing musicians, family, friends, and fans together in an encouraging environment. Our success from the first year was just the beginning since in just one year, we doubled the number of attendees. Bands with influences from a variety of genres, including reggae, rock, funk, punk, ska, roots, jazz, jam, and bluegrass came from all over the East Coast and Midwest to show fans what they're all about and spread some irie vibes. Past bands include 77 Jefferson, Fear Nuttin Band, Sun-Dried Vibes, TreeHouse!, Jahman Brahman, Tropidelic, and over 30 others! Members of Sun-Dried Vibes, the band hosting the festival and whose song became the name of the event, are working hard along with volunteers to bring this festival to fruition! "Our mission as a band has been to create a family of like-minded musicians and fans. Conscious and positive music is on the rise and people in this world want to see a change. We are a part of that movement and it's our duty to put it in motion. This is our effort to bring all the folks we have encountered over the years and put all our collective energies together to spread the One Love Movement." - Zach Fowler of Sun-Dried Vibes This year, we have several ideas of how to put on an amazing event while keeping Mother Nature in the forefront of our minds. We will be doing whatever we can to reduce, reuse, and recycle and want to foster this idea among all of those in attendance. In addition, we are doing our best to source locally and support like-minded local businesses to reduce our carbon footprint and support the local economy.
