"Vara: A Blessing" (Bhutan, 2013), is the award-winning third feature film by Bhutanese director and writer, Khyentse Norbu. Norbu's previous films include "The Cup" (1999) and "Travellers & Magicians" (2003).
"Vara" tells a timeless tale of devotion. It is set within the lush backdrop of rural India and is an explosion of classical Indian dance and music.
"Vara" was the opening film at the prestigious Busan International Film Festival in 2013 and went on to screen at many international film festivals, including BFI London, Taipei Golden Horse, and the Beijing International Film Festival. In 2014, at the Tribeca Film Festival, "Vara" won the Best Online Feature Film award in the Tribeca Online Film Festival Competition.
The film will be introduced by honored guest, writer and director Khyentse Norbu.

- Attendees must bring ID to pick up tickets at will call
- Doors open at 6:30PM
- Event begins at 7:30PM with an introduction by Khyentse Norbu
- Seating is general admission. First come, first served
The Norman Bouchard Memorial Theater is located in the old Student Union building, on campus at the University of British Columbia
